# Payouts

> Money moving from Itemstores to your bank

Customer payments land in your Itemstores account, then pay out to your bank on
Stripe's standard schedule, usually 2 to 3 business days.

This screen is Stripe's own payouts tooling, so it needs a
[connected Stripe account](/help/tutorials/set-up-your-business). Until onboarding is
finished you get the Stripe onboarding card here instead. Only an owner or an
admin can open it.

<Note>
  Payouts run on an automatic daily schedule. Instant payouts and editing the
  payout schedule are both switched off, so there is no way to pay yourself out
  early or hold funds back. Automatic payouts are what lets Stripe group each
  payout's charges, refunds and fees, which is what the payout report reads.
</Note>

## Your balance

**Total balance** is everything held for you. **Available to pay out** is the
part that has cleared and can be sent, and **Next payout scheduled for** tells
you when the next one goes.

The difference between the two matters: a payment can be in your balance but not
yet available, which is why a recent sale does not always appear in the next
payout.

**See details** breaks the balance down.

## The payout list

Each payout shows its date, status, the bank account it went to, and the amount.
Filter by status, amount, method or date, and **Export** to take it away.

## Seeing which orders made up a payout

The payout list tells you what arrived. To see what it was made of, use the
**Reports** tab at the top of this screen, which opens the **Payouts** report in
[Reports](/help/knowledge-base/reports).

Expand a payout there for its **Summary**, showing subtotals, shipping and taxes
broken out by jurisdiction, then the total, your revenue, the fees deducted,
anything charged back or refunded, the net and what was deposited. Beside it sits
every line that made up the payout, each with its net, tax and deposited amount.
Order-backed lines carry the order number and open it when selected. A payout of
more than 500 lines shows the 500 largest and points you at the CSV for the rest.

This is where to answer questions like how much sales tax was collected across
the orders in one payout.

## Fees

**Fees** on a payout is what was charged in fees before the money reached you:

* The Stripe processing fee on each transaction, listed as **Processing fee**.
* The Itemstores transaction fee, listed as **Platform fee**.
* Stripe Tax's own fee for calculating sales tax, dated by the day it covers.
* The dispute fee on any chargeback.

<Note>
  A chargeback is not part of Fees. It gets its own **Charged back** row, negative
  and for the full amount, while the dispute fee that came with it sits under Fees.
  See [Disputes](/help/knowledge-base/disputes).
</Note>

## With QuickBooks connected

**Post expenses** posts one expense per payout to QuickBooks, covering that
payout's fees. It appears once
[QuickBooks Online](/help/knowledge-base/settings/integrations/quickbooks) is connected
and its account mapping is complete, and one press posts every payout still
waiting. It is disabled when there is nothing left to post.

<Note>
  Connecting QuickBooks requires a Full or Enterprise license.
